Elie was born May 26, 1935 in Cairo, Egypt. He was the husband of Marcelle, and the son of Stratis Stratis and Isabelle Calfa. Elie is survived by two children (Alain and Erick), two daughters-in-law (Lisa and Debbie), two sisters (Marie-Raymonde and Mirielle), and six grandchildren (Jacob, Kieran, Ethan, Clarke, Nicole and Anabelle).

Elie started his career in chemistry and moved on to teaching in Montreal, QC. His adventures with Marcelle did not end there, as they moved to Boca Raton in 1982, and operated numerous different businesses. In recent years, never one to sit idly by, Elie was committed to the establishment and development of the St. Nicholas Church in Delray Beach.

Elie had a youthful and playful spirit. And his character was exemplified by warmth, compassion and humility. He will be missed by one and all.

Family and friends will gather at St. Nicholas Church (5715 Lake Ida Road, Delray Beach, FL, 33484) on Saturday, December 3, from 9:30 to 11am, with a church service and mercy meal to follow. The burial will be held at the Boca Raton Cemetery at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family has proposed that a donation be made to the St. Nicholas Church, in his name.
