Dr. Cyril Parkanyi, 79, of Boca Raton, FL, passed away on April 26, 2013 with his loving family by his side. He is survived by his beloved wife Marie, son Michael, and sisters Marika and Vera. Cyril was a professor at FAU for 24 years and the former Chairman of the Chemistry Department. He received numerous awards for teaching and research. He enjoyed classical music, hiking, and loved to travel. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 29, 2013 at Ascension Catholic Church.
