Douglas Alan Patterson, age 54, of Fleming Park, Florida, died on December 21, 2015 at Boca Raton Regional Medical Center. He was born June 7, 1961 in Grand Junction, Colorado and was the son of John Albert Patterson and the late Barbara Jean Gibbs Patterson. He was a graduate of Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, MD, and attended Montgomery College. He was a general contractor, specializing in commercial roofing. He loved the outdoors, travel, and lively political discussions. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by the love of his life, Karen Buck, by father and stepmother John and Peggy Patterson, by three sisters - Beverly Olsen of Abingdon MD, Teri Earman of New Market VA, Janice Patterson of Harrisonburg VA, and by five nephews. On Tuesday, Dec 29 at Gary Panoch Funeral Home in Boca Raton FL, family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:30 with memorial service at 6:30. A graveside service will be held in Winchester VA at a later date.
