Dorothy "Dottie" Carson, 82 was called home in her sleep on Christmas morning, December 25, 2022 in Boca Raton Florida after an approximately 20 year battle with Kidney problems that required 3 days a week dialysis treatment.

Dorothy was born September 13, 1940 in Philadelphia, Pa to the late Eva Collins Carson, mother and Herman King, father the sixth child of that union and the 9th of Eva "Wawa" Carson.

Dorothy was educated in the city of Philadelphia public school system up to the 12th grade.  She became a Nurse's Aid for The City of Philadelphia (CP) working at River View Nursing home for the old age and other CP nursing facilities for thirty-five years.  She was always willing and ready to help others by being a friend and provider for those in need.  This lead her to be called Mommy, Aunt Dorothy, Lady and Mom by friends, neighbors and family.  We all loved her spicy nature and passive aggressive ways.

Dorothy had hobbies of knitting, playing pinocle, traveling, arts and crafts word puzzles and cooking. We all loved her potato salad and sweet potato pies.  She knitted many baby blankets with love. She and her travel partners/family (Linda Wilson, Yvonne (Vonnie) Reese and Johnny Dollar ("JD" her long time partner) was always going on cruises, jazz festivals, boxing matches and resort towns. She knew how to enjoy life while sharing with others.

Dorothy loved children and they all loved her even more.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her a brother, Dennis Carson, a niece raised as her daughter, Rachelle Benford.  Rachelle's children and grandchildren (D'Marc, Davida, Angel-Aaliyah, Damien, Daejah, Imoni).  Niece-in-law Lessie Carson.  Great niece D'quita Clark-Haskens her children (Khlo'e and Micah). Great niece D'Shane Rice her children (Maddison, Layla, Dawson). Great Nephew Darren Carson his son Darryl and his Children.  First cousin Eva Dixon her daughter Gail Pegram son Calvin Pegram and their children. Host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and host of friends too numerous to list at this time.

Also, special mentions for their unwavering support are:  Linda Wilson her adopted daughter and her Special friend, adopted brother, old neighbor, and loving caretaker Melvin James Stanley.

Dorothy's brothers and sister preceding her in passing were: Julius Carson, Albert Carson, Robert Carson, Herman Carson, Mamie Carson, Henry Carson, William (Billy) Carson and David Carson.

A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, April 16, 2023, 1-5pm at Levering Mill House, 327 Levering Mill Rd #2810, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004, Phone: (610) 664-9107
