Dorothy Elizabeth DeVine, age 90, died at home on Friday, October 12, 2012.
Born May 30, 1922 in New York City, she lived in New Jersey, California and Florida. Dorothy was a homemaker, mother and wife who raised three sons. She later worked for the City of Oakland Park until she retired and then she volunteered at Butterfly World. Dorothy was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Alumni of Saint Elizabeth's College, Convent Station, New Jersey. Loving daughter, sister, mother and wife. Survivors include sons And family: John, Nancy, Tiffany, Sean and Patrick DeVine; Donald, Diane, Andrew and David DeVine; and Timothy, Judith, Matthew and Dorothy DeVine, Twin sister Virginia Flanagan, Sisters: Catherine Rowe, Azella O'Dwyer, and brother Clarence "Chris" Crysler, in addition to many nephews and nieces. Dorothy was preceded in death by infant James DeVine, husband John A. DeVine, and parents Azella and Clarence Crysler. A Memorial Service will beheld at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Deerfield Beach on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Dorothy's life after the Memorial Service at her home in Deerfield Beach. No burial service will be held at this time. Dorothy and her husband, John A. DeVine will be Interred together at The Arlington National Cemetery at a later time to be announced.
