IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald
Dubisky
August 31, 1934 – December 12, 2013
Biography
Donald James Dubisky
Aug. 31, 1934 – December 12, 2013
Donald Dubisky was born in Belleville, Michigan to Charles and Dorothy Dubisky. He was one of seven children and is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Chuck, and his sister Shirley. His brothers, Dave, Ed, Gary and Bill reside in Michigan.
Don was an avid sportsman in his youth, playing baseball, basketball, and football. He met the love of his life, Jane, in high school, and they were married in 1953. They began their family immediately, and he became the devoted father of four children: Craig, Toni, Eric, and Donny.
Don and Jane moved their family to Boca Raton, Florida in 1964. While the kids grew up, Don's love of sports was instilled into them. He coached baseball and football for his sons and grandsons. He rarely missed going to any of his children/grandchildren's sporting events, whether local or out of state.
In 1990, Don and Jane moved to Delray Beach, Florida. Don retired there in 1997. Throughout his life, he wore many hats for his many talents. His last and most notable position of his career was construction superintendent for Whiting-Turner Construction Company.
While retired, he was blessed to enjoy spending his days walking the beach, working crossword puzzles, planting and growing his garden, maintaining his beautiful yard, following all sports on television, embarking on several casino adventures, going on a trip to both Alaska and Europe, and, of course, attending all of his grandchildren's sports activities.
He lived life to its fullest with love, strong family values, faith, humor, and great integrity. Donald was his family's hero and strength. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Jane, of nearly 61 years, his devoted children, Craig (Mary), Toni, Eric (Cathy), Donny (Laura) and his adoring grandchildren Michael, Danny, Rusty, Andrea, Ashley, Kate, Vicki, Emma, Ricky, Gina, Elise, and Jamie, and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Emily.
Family will receive friends Tues., Dec. 17th, 2-4 & 6-8pm at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wed., Dec. 18th, 6pm at Ascension Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, P.O. Box 27106, New York, NY
