Denise Pizano Chisholm was born Denise Geraldine Pizano in Hammond, Indiana on February 13, 1956. She was the second born to Alfred Pizano and the late Elsie Leynes. Denise grew up in Chicago, Illinois with her siblings Vernon, Judi, Patricia, and Theresa. She graduated from Alvernia High School in Chicago, Illinois.

One fateful night in the summer of 1977, Denise sat at a piano next to a man. She married that man, Richard Allen Chisholm, on May 14, 1978. They celebrated 41 years together less than a year before his passing on February 4, 2020.

Denise dreamed of being a nurse and got her RN, BSN from FAU while also raising their two daughters, Nicole and Andrea. She worked as a school nurse for the Health Care District and then went on to head the immunizations department with the State of Florida Department of Health. She loved people. Being able to give medical help and assistance suited her perfectly. She fought and beat aggressive breast cancer in 2015 and worked until she was unable due to her medical conditions.

Denise turned strangers to friends wherever she went. She was willful, tender, and so, so strong. Denise loved her family fiercely and was the glue that kept her siblings close. She leaves behind her daughters, Nicole and Andrea, her sons-in-law, Seiji and Trent, and her grandchildren, Derek, Leia, and Margaux. The force of her love will stay woven into all of our lives until we meet again.

Visitation and funeral to be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 6 PM - 8 PM at the Gary Panoch Funeral Home located at 6140 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL 33487.

Catholic mass service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 1 PM - 2 PM at Ascension Catholic Church located at 7250 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, Florida 33487.

We will host a gathering directly after the church service on Friday at Nicole M. Chisholm-Morikami's home in Royal Palm Beach and will extend the address to anyone who needs it.
We hope to see everyone who would like to attend and support the love left behind by the strongest woman we've ever known.
