Connie Carroll Caudill, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024, at the age of 79.
Born on May 19, 1945, in Orlando, Florida, Connie spent her life living in the Ocoee, Winter Garden, and Apopka areas. She was a vibrant and social woman who cherished her family and friends.
Connie had a passion for beauty and obtained a cosmetology license. She owned her own salon in her home and later worked for Mears transporting large groups for special events. In her free time, Connie enjoyed swimming, playing cards with friends, and spending quality time with her grandchildren. She was a coffee lover, a dance enthusiast, and had a deep appreciation for Elvis and oldies music.
Connie is survived by her loving husband, Iber "Gene" Gable; her sons, Tony Vinson (Tina) and Ray Potter (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Crystal Clark (Shane), Kaley Vinson, Ashley Miles, Annalisa Sansone, Hannah Brown (Robby), Ian Vinson, Liam Vinson, Mason Vinson; and her great-grandson, Jaxon. She is also survived by her bonus children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, including those from the Gable and Preston families.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents Roxford and Frances Whitaker Carroll, her siblings Peggy Johnson, (Rebecca) Joyce Palmer, and Gary Carroll, and her daughter Angela Preston.
Connie will be remembered for her bold Southern spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and her ability to always speak her mind. She was strong-willed, determined, and compassionate. She provided unwavering support to those that she loved and was fearlessly authentic.
A proud and supportive mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Connie's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.
A graveside service will be held on September 15, 2024, at 11:30amat Ocoee Cemetery, 368 E Geneva St, Ocoee, FL 34761.
