Obituary

Clinton Francis "Skip" Bearse Jr., 80, of Boca Raton, FL, passed away on June 10, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Skip was born on April 14, 1945, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Clinton Sr.

and Claire (nee Vienneau) Bearse. At the time, his father was proudly serving in the Coast Guard during World War ll. As a child, he was nicknamed "Skipper," later shortened to "Skip," a name that would stay with him for life.Early on, the Bearse family owned and lived in a Boston triple-decker home, renting two floors to make ends meet. Eventually, rising expenses and rent control prompted the family to relocate to Florida, joining relatives already living there. Skip grew up in Coral Gables and North Miami and graduated from Miami Norland High School.

During the Vietnam War, Skip served honorably in the U.S. Air Force, stationed for a time in Thailand. Upon returning home, he used the GI Bill to earn his accounting degree, ultimately becoming a Certified Public Accountant. He loved working at Maniar & Associates (M & M Accounting) as they treated him like family. In 1984, Skip met and married, Susan Jacobs. Together they shared many family vacations to golf resorts and theme parks. He loved fishing, golfing and was a semi-pro bowler.

Skip is survived by his wife, Susan Bearse of Boca Raton,; his brother in law, Jay Jacobs, ; his brother Richard (Fran) Bearse of Orlando; sisters Carolyn Bearse of Denver, CO, and Melyssa (Robert) Clibbon of New Smyrna Beach, FL; nephews Daniel (Caitlyn) and Tyler Clibbon of Tallahassee, FL; niece Andrea Bearse; and his treasured cousin Rita Rosenberg and her husband Bernard Pita. He was predeceased by his parents, Clinton F. and Claire Bearse of Daytona, FL.

Skip will be remembered for his gruff exterior but kind heart. He was sharp witted and strong to the end and he will be greatly missed by all of us.

Burial with military honors will be held 2:30PM, Friday, August 22, 2025 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 U.S. Route 1, Mims, Florida, situated between the Indian River Lagoon and US1.
