Berta M. Lopez, a resident at Williamsburg Landing in Wilton Manors for the last three years, passed away Good Friday, April 10, 2020. Berta was born September 9, 1924 in Perico, Camagüey, Cuba. She attended: Progresiva Universidad Maestra en Tamarindo. Berta moved with her husband and daughter to the USA in 1959 and became a US citizen in 1966. She loved her Latin culture, traditions and music.  She enjoyed dancing and would do so anytime music was playing. Berta retired from BayState Gas Company, in Springfield, Massachusetts, where she was a bilingual customer service representative. Berta was a member and Deaconess at Bethany Assembly of God in Agawam, MA, for many years before moving to Boca Raton, Florida in 1996. After moving to Boca Raton she became a member at the Assembly of God in Boca Raton, Florida. She taught Sunday school and volunteered in various church groups.

Berta survived by her daughter Kenia M. Caputo of Fort Lauderdale, Florida married to Kevin J. Caputo, granddaughter Tara K. Ruggiere of Delray Beach, Florida and three great grandchildren, Dakota Giordano, Dvonne Odom and Kai Ruggiere. She is predeceased by her Father Gregorio Garcia and mother Rita Rodriguez Garcia, brothers Eloy Garcia and Alberto Garcia of Cuba.
