Arthur Taylor Grissom Jr., age 59, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012. He passed peacefully at his home in Boca Raton, Florida surrounded by his wife and children. He was a loving Husband, Father and Son who was loved by many.

Arthur was born on October 26, 1952 in Oxford, NC. After graduating from J.F. Webb High School in 1971 he joined the U.S. Army. He married his loving wife, Vickie Grissom, December 21, 1986.

Following his service Arthur worked for the U.S. Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Prisons for 26 years before retiring in 2002. Afterwards he worked as an administrator Heartland Regional Medical Center until 2006. Arthur was the Chief Support Services Officer at Broward General Medical Center.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Vickie Wheelous Grissom; daughter, Sarah Roderick of Missouri and her husband, Jared Roderick and their two children Mallory and Taylor; his three sons, Arthur Grissom III of Missouri and his Fiancée Stevie McLaughlin, Joseph Grissom of Washington and Michael Grissom of Florida; his mother Rosa Bales Grissom of Oxford; his brother, Gary Grissom; sisters, Jean Daniel and Sandra Grissom; his Aunts, Josephine Satterwhite and Eloise Newton; and many nieces and nephews.

His Father, Arthur Taylor Grissom Sr, preceded him in death.

The memorial will be held at Mary's Chapel Baptist Church in Wake Forest, NC Saturday May 26th at 11am followed by a graveside service at the Wheelous Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends Tuesday, May 22, 10am to 12 noon and 7-9pm at the residence. Donations may be made in memory of Arthur Grissom to Broward Health Foundation (CECH), 12 SE Davie Blvd.
