Anna Huff Mitchell, 89, of Delray Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025.

Born on May 3, 1936, in Hillsville, Virginia, Anna lived a life filled with purpose, creativity, and love. A lifelong educator, she dedicated nearly five decades to teaching, mentoring, and inspiring thousands of elementary and middle school students. Her commitment to nurturing young minds left a lasting mark on her community and generations of learners.

Beyond the classroom, Anna's talents and passions flourished. She was an award-winning gardener, a gifted painter, an avid reader, and an accomplished knitter. Her creativity knew no bounds—if there was a problem to be solved, Anna found a way, always with ingenuity and grace. Her sharp wit, playful humor, and adventurous spirit brought joy to everyone who knew her. Whether sharing stories, embarking on new adventures, or challenging friends to a spirited game of Rummikub (where she was famously unbeatable), Anna's zest for life was infectious.

Anna is survived by her two loving daughters, Katrina Mitchell of Boulder, CO, and Lisa Mitchell of Orlando, FL. She will also be fondly remembered by her nephew—whom she cherished like a son—Tim Stout of Gainesville, FL, and her beloved sister, Judy Stout of Oviedo, FL.

Family will receive friends Friday, October 31, 2025, 1-3pm with a 3pm celebration of Anna's life and her invaluable contributions to the Boca/Delray community at Gary Panoch Funeral Home & Cremations, 6140 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL.
