Martha Ann Buchanan

Martha Ann Buchanan, 86, of Lone Oak passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Boca Raton Regional Hospital in Boca Raton, Florida.
Martha was born in Paducah, KY on November 10, 1933 to Wrather J. and Mary L. Poyner. She was a longtime member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church and she served faithfully there for 75 years. She retired from Western Baptist Hospital where she worked as an Operating Room Technician. She played in a Ladies Golf League at Paxton Park Golf Course for several years. She also enjoyed playing bridge and dominoes and spending time cooking, especially baking. She will be remembered mostly for her strong love of family.
Mrs Buchanan is survived by one son, Ricky Buchanan of Paducah, KY; one daughter, Kathy Staggs (Steve) of Boca Raton, FL; two sisters, Linda Frey and Patricia Floria (George) of Upper Marlboro, MD; one sister-in-law June Buchanan of Paducah, KY; one granddaughter, Taylor Buchanan and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Buchanan was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Gene Buchanan, her parents, Wrather J. and Mary L. Poyner; one son, Randy Buchanan; her brothers, Robert W. Poyner, J.T. Poyner, Cletus Poyner and Jim Poyner; and one sister, Jeannette Hughes.
A memorial service will be held in Paducah, Kentucky at a later date. Gary Panoch Funeral Home in Boca Raton is in charge of arrangements.
