Marshall lee Painter, 71, of Hollywood, FL, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019. he was born on Tuesday, January 27, 1948 in Stone Mountain, GA to the late opal Neloise Crowe. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Jaime and his brothers, Wayne and Larry. After moving to South Florida as a teenager, he was drawn to the Volkswagen culture. He went on to open and operate First National Garage in Davie, FL, quickly becoming known as a "Legend" in the VW Community. He was instrumental in creating one of the first VW car clubs in South Florida. His extensive VW knowledge made him a trusted resource and fount of information for generations of VW owners.
Marshall is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Allen Autry; Son and Daughter-in-law Marshall Painter and Terri Latimer; Daughter and Son-in-law Ken and Mathew Merritt; grandchildren Sage and Rylan Aultry, and Amelia Merritt.
A graveside funeral service for Marshall Painter will be held 10:30am, Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Central, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
