William James Santamaria II, a proud Sicilian and a visionary entrepreneur, passed away surrounded by his children, their spouses, and his ex-wife, on April 5, 2024, in Boca Raton, FL, at the age of 74. Born on January 29, 1950, in Brooklyn, NY, he leaves behind a legacy marked by his achievements, commitment to family, and unwavering pursuit of success.
William's journey began with his pursuit of education at New York Institute of Technology, where he studied fashion and design. He possessed an entrepreneurial spirit that led him to explore various industries throughout his life. From the garment industry in New York City to competing nationally with industry giants like FedEx and UPS in the air freight business to creating the luxury lifestyle magazine, "Metropolitan Millionaire," William fearlessly embraced challenges and sought success with every fiber of his being. In addition to his ventures, he proudly served in the United States Air Force, demonstrating his dedication to his country and his commitment to excellence in all endeavors.
He was a true maverick in the weight loss industry, becoming a pioneer of infomercials in the 1980s and emerging as the nation's second highest selling supplier of weight loss products. His determination and business acumen extended to real estate and the financial markets, where he made astute investments in commercial and residential properties in NYC and Florida. Additionally, he demonstrated his financial prowess by engaging in equity, debt, and cryptocurrency investing, both domestically and internationally. Over his lifetime, he generated hundreds of millions of dollars in sales across his many businesses.
William's crowning achievement was the creation of 212 Dental Care, which blossomed into a national brand and became NYC's number one dental practice. It also earned the distinction of being the largest provider of Invisalign and teeth whitening services in the country. In addition to his professional successes, he had a deep love for the beach and ocean, enjoying yachting and the freedom it brought. He was also known for his passion for dancing, tearing up the dance floor with his infectious energy. Cars and motorcycles held a special place in his heart, as he reveled in the thrill of driving and riding.
Honesty, integrity, and a positive mental attitude were the pillars of William's character. He prided himself on doing the right thing and placed his family above all else, followed closely by his dedication to business and his faith.
William will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Anthony James Santamaria and William James Santamaria III, as well as his twin daughters, Audrey Nicole Santamaria and Ashley Noel Santamaria, and his granddaughter Cameron Claire Santamaria-Ward. Anthony's fiancée, Crystal; Ashley's husband, Ricardo; and Audrey's wife, Sasha, were all cherished members of William's extended family.
