Michael James O'Leary, 63, of Boca Raton, FL, and Rangeley, ME, formerly of Boxborough, MA, passed away on April 8, 2018, after a courageous struggle with multiple myeloma.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife Tamzen Ryder O’Leary, his son Justin Ryder O’Leary, mother Mary Louise O’Leary, and siblings Timothy, Bruce, Jonathan, David, and Suzan O’Leary. He is also survived by nieces Shannon Lowell and Erin Smith and nephews Thomas O’Leary and Luca Chayer. He was predeceased by his father Donald O’Leary.
Michael graduated from the University of Massachusetts and did his post-graduate studies in chemistry at the University of New Hampshire. He was employed for many years by Shipley Company in Newton, MA, Rohm and Haas / Dow Company in Marlboro, MA, and Waters Corporation in Milford, MA. He retired in 2016.
Michael (Chunk) enjoyed life to the fullest, boating, fishing, hiking, skiing, and doing home improvement projects. His sense of humor and quick wit always entertained his friends and family. He most enjoyed his time outdoors in the woods of Maine and the sun of Florida.
A memorial mass was held at St. Joan of Arc Chapel in Boca Raton, FL, on Tuesday, April 10. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, April 15 at 1:00 PM at 2 Palm Avenue, Lauderdale by the Sea, FL 33308.
