McGough, Marnie (Margaret) Ann, age 53 of Boca Raton FL, born in St. Paul MN on May 20, 1964, passed away September 20 due to surgical complications. Preceded in death by parents David and Patricia, and brothers Paul and Thomas. Survived by husband, Craig Kurvers, and by children Erin, Claire, Maia, and Sean Kurvers; brothers Michael and Steve (Brenda); sisters Mary (David) Stacken and Molly (Eric) Preudhomme; Sister-in-Law Jan Winterhalter; many beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Marnie was a graduate of Chaska High School in Chaska MN and went on to earn both her undergraduate communications degree and her graduate law degree from the University of MN. She enjoyed her time working for the University of MN HR department. In Wisconsin she worked for Nelson Law Office in Milwaukie until starting her own McGough Law Office. She worked at Thompson-West group in Eagan, MN, then left her law career to raise her four children. Most recently, she worked at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL. She made friends easily and was always a listening ear. She loved good food, good company, and good books which lead her to founding book clubs, dinner clubs, and wine clubs wherever she lived. She was a giving and compassionate woman who volunteered her time, skills, and vibrant personality to improve the lives of others. Her gifts varied from time teaching English to Somalian refugees, sharing her love of art as a volunteer in her children’s classrooms, to using her legal skills to help others write grants and craft grant requests. She was also extremely fond of punny humor and inspiring quotes.
