Kathleen V. Rooney, born in Drumcoo Brady, Co. Monaghan, Ireland, passed away in Boca Raton, Florida on August 25, 2017. Kathleen is survived by her loving husband, Thomas, sons: Jack, Sean and Thomas, and siblings Margaret, Bernadette, Phyllis, John Joe, Gabriel and Theresa. She is predeceased by son, Patrick, brother Jimmy, sister Mary and parents, Johnny and Mollie Carbin. Kathleen had the honor of working with New York County District Attorney Frank Hogan and then became a real estate agent working with several agencies. Always one for reaching out to help others Kathleen enjoyed participating in charity work and other causes that captured her heart. A few of the agencies benefiting from her benevolence included battered women’s shelters, nursing homes, Shriners, St. Jude and the American Red Cross. Kathleen also found enjoyment in Irish Step Dancing, in listening to her sons play violin and in the antics of her pet dog (Lucy) and cat (Whitey). Her other activities included golf, working out with the SilverSneakers, and keeping up with her family. Kathleen will always be remembered for her love of others and especially for the love she had for her family all over the world. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Red Cross in honor of the work Kathleen held so dear to her heart. A visitation will be held Friday, September 1, 2017 from 5-8pm at the funeral home. Saturday, September 2 at 11:30 a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church.
