Obituary Image

Ghazi Hajj was born in Falougha, Lebanon, on January 9, 1951. He is the son of Shukrallah and Alice Hajj, and the second of five siblings, Dalal, John, Laila, and Elias. He moved to the United States in 1973 to pursue an engineering degree.  Ghazi married the love of his life, Carmen El Hage, in 1981. Together they raised four loving children, Jennifer, Christina, Anthony, and Joseph. He was very proud of his roots and heritage.

Ghazi was a passionate leader who had a generous heart that was bigger than life itself. As a son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend, Ghazi selflessly devoted himself to everyone around him. He was a man of principle and a pillar of strength. He dedicated over 20 years of service to his beloved church community, St. Nicholas, where he served as the Parish Council Chairman. Ghazi’s personality and work ethic were distinguished. He had an entrepreneurial spirit that led him to grow businesses all over the country; he received many leadership awards throughout his career.

Ghazi went to the Lord on September 10, 2017, in the presence of his loving family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ghazi’s memory to the St. Nicholas Melkite Catholic Church Building Fund. Please mail donations to St. Nicholas Melkite Church, 5715 Lake Ida Road, Delray Beach, Florida 33484.
