Edna Richards
April 25, 2017 ~ March 27, 2017Boca Raton, Florida — Edna May Richards, 92, died Monday, March 27, 2017 at her home in Boca Raton, Florida following complications arising from phenomena.
She’s survived by her two sons, Wilbert Shaw & Shirley Haynes, his wife Stephanie Haynes and Wilbert’s new wife Althea; her devoted granddaughter Andrea Chang whom she raised since she was an infant, and her husband Danville Chang, along with her 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Miss Edna was born and raised in St. James, Jamaica, the daughter of Josiah & Agatha Thompson. In her early years, Miss Edna was an entrepreneur who owned and operated a Grocery Store & Bar in Portland Jamaica, which was very popular in the area. After the sale of her business, she made a successful living as a Seamstress. Miss Edna was an avid worshipper who spends every chance she gets reading the bible and attended church services on a regular basis. She also had a passion for cooking, gardening, travelling and shopping, but most of all, she loves to give, and takes great pleasure in giving and helping others.
Remembering her is easy we do it every day,
but there are aches within our hearts,
because we are missing her today.
Her love is still our guide
And though we cannot see her, she is always at our side.
Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same
But God calls us one by one
The chain will link again.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at Living Hope Church on April 30th, 2017 at 4:00 PM.
